Richard is a housing law specialist. Since 1990 he has been a consultant and trainer, training in Housing Law and best practice. His most popular topics include: dealing with anti-social behaviour and case management, preventing and controlling rent arrears, housing officers in court, disrepair and best practice, allocations and Choice Based Lettings, preventing and dealing with homelessness. Richard Paris has an MA from Queens' College, Cambridge and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Housing from London School of Economics, where between 1991-93 he was senior research officer. |

Margaret is a lawyer with wide experience in legal practice, lecturing and consultancy. After obtaining her law degree at London University, Margaret trained as a solicitor working for the LB of Islington where she gained extensive experience in local government issues. Margaret has worked in London Law Centres, specialising in housing, family and immigration law. She also developed training courses for a number of organisations and has been a visiting lecturer at South Bank and Cardiff Universities.
Margaret now concentrates on work for local authorities and housing associations and has developed expertise in a wide range of areas of law and practice. This expertise combined with her informal approach has led Margaret to become one of the most sought after housing trainers in the UK.

Colin is a Psychologist, Consultant Trainer, Researcher and Author. He has worked extensively within the National Health Service, in Social Services Departments and has taught in Higher Education.Colin has worked as an Associate Consultant to the National Institute for Social Work and has been involved in a number of its developmental projects over several years including the Department of Health’s “Caring in Homes” initiative and more recently, on an extensive management development programme with a large public sector housing agency. He has a particular interest in mental health and the ageing process and has undertaken research projects linked to these within the UK and in Europe. |

Jane McGarry was born and educated in Salford. Since graduating from Sheffield University, Jane's career has taken her to many places. After working for a time in Dallas, Jane returned to the UK to begin a career in advice work. She started as a Welfare Rights Officer at Peterborough Citizens Advice Bureau then spent 4 years as the Benefits Training Consultant at the Chartered Institute of Housing. In 1994 Jane moved to Somerset to set up and run the Somerset Welfare Rights Unit. Back in Salford, Jane managed 3 of Manchester's Citizens Advice Bureaux until 2002. Jane is a highly experienced and sought after trainer, providing benefits and money advice training to local authorities and public bodies. More recently, Jane secured a contract to provide benefits advice to the Audit Commission's tenant inspectors and runs many specialist housing courses and conference sessions for LJM on the subjects of Welfare Benefits, Housing Benefits and Debt Counselling.

Ben Reeve Ben worked in front line housing and homelessness for 20 years before becoming a full time training consultant. He now provides many courses specialising in mediation and communication skills for social housing workers.
